Fish processing waste is a potential raw material for producing high value products having potential industrial and pharmaceutical applications. Fish bone, which can be separated after removal of muscle from the frame, is a good source of calcium as “Dicalcium phosphate”, which has the ideal calcium phosphate ratio 2:1. Since the recommended daily allowance (RDA) of calcium is 1000-1300 mg, fish calcium from fish bone is a viable and affordable option for dietary calcium supplementation.
